Personal Injury and Property Damage

When pursuing a claim for harm to person and property, the litigation process may seem intimidating.  Our lawyers will lead you through the entire process, and apply our subject matter knowledge to achieve an equitable and cost-efficient solution for you.

Our notable engagements include:

  • Defending Singapore’s largest personal injury claim to-date (in excess of $250 million) – Lassiter Ann Masters v To Keng Lam [2004] SGCA 10;

  • Challenging the law and initiating an upward revision on the limits of compensation for future losses, ensuring that future litigants do not go under-compensated – Lai Wai Keong Eugene v Loo Wei Yen [2014] 3 SLR 702 and the creation of the Actuarial Tables with Explanatory Notes for use in Personal Injury and Death Claims (Singapore Academy of Law, 2021);

  • Challenging the law and obtaining an award for loss of earnings into the future for an elderly blue-collar worker – Lua Bee Kiang v Yeo Chee Siong [2019] 1 SLR 145;

  • Acting pro bono for a foreign domestic worker in a personal injury claim arising out of her alleged “moonlighting” arranged by her employers; and

  • Acting in a multi-jurisdictional dispute concerning property damage to three high-value motor vehicles.  The sum in dispute was in excess of $1 million.
