What trainees can expect
From the get go, trainees will be heavily involved in the cases handled by their respective teams from performing research to drafting court documents, correspondence and meeting with clients. For the duration of the training period, trainees will be closely supervised by the supervising director and the team associates.
It is important to us that our trainees undergo training in a safe space where they are empowered to ask questions, observe our lawyers in action and try their hand at real legal work.
At TLC, we also believe that our lawyers must not only possess technical competence, but also commercial mindedness. Our trainees will be involved in client meeting preparation, attend client meetings with our lawyers and be taught client management skills.
As a trainee, you will also be involved in strategic discussions with our lawyers to understand how to formulate case strategies which are not only legally sound, but commercially sensible.
Whilst each trainee will be assigned a supervising director, trainees can expect to be rotated to other teams in the firm for a holistic learning experience not just in terms of legal practice areas but also to work with different lawyers.
