Shahira has a wealth of experience defending complex claims in all tiers of court in Singapore.

Shahira is a disputes lawyer with a focus on insurance related matters. She frequently advises on complex injury claims and claims with a cross-border element. Her core areas of practice include Motor Accident, Work Injury Compensation, Employer’s Liability, Contractor’s All Risks and Public Liability claims. She frequently works with medical professionals, forensic accountants and accident reconstruction experts.

Shahira has vast experience in advising on insurance policy construction and on policy contribution issues. She frequently advises insurers on recovery under the Work Injury Compensation Act. She has acted as Defence counsel before all tiers of the Singapore courts and has also represented insurers and litigants at mediations, neutral evaluations and arbitrations.

Beyond disputes work, Shahira has conducted policy wording reviews for multiple Singapore insurers. She currently sits as Vice-Chairman of the Personal Injury/Property Damage (PIPD) Committee under the Law Society where she contributes in providing guidance and assistance to members on all matters affecting the industry. She is also a member of the Singapore Academy of Law PIPD Working Group.
